Lotus unveils the name of its first electric SUV
Lotus has unveiled the name of its future electric SUV. It will therefore be the Lotus Eletre. Lotus’ future electric SUV will be unveiled on March 29!.
It will be unveiled in London at 7:30 p.m. local time (8:30 p.m. in Paris). Planned to integrate into the E segment of the car fleet, with the Eletre, the brand is diversifying its range, to appeal to large families and SUV fans.

Two days before revealing its first SUV, Lotus reveals the name. This one begins with the letter “E” , like all the brand’s models since 1956 . Until then mechanically called “Type 132”, it will finally be named Lotus Eletre , a 100% electric model. Planned to integrate into the E segment with the Eletre, the brand is diversifying its range to appeal to large families and SUV fans.
LOTUS IS DONE WITH THERMALS
With the launch of its Eletre, the British manufacturer says goodbye to the internal combustion engine . Its latest model presented with this technology is the Emira , a 400 hp supercar revealed in July 2021. The new SUV should be equipped with two electric motors whose total power could reach 600 to 700 hp . Its autonomy should be around 500 km , for a recharge to 80% in about 20 minutes.
THREE MORE ELECTRIC MODELS BY 2026
Since its takeover by Geely and its establishment in China, Lotus sees life in electric. By 2026 , in addition to the Eletre, the manufacturer wants to launch three other zero-emission models: a sports car, a four-door coupe and another SUV. For production, a new plant in Wuhan, China, will complement Lotus’ facilities in England.
