Future Honda Hornet models will likely include a new twin-cylinder engine with a 750 horsepower rating. An engine that, according to reports, will power the following Transalp and two additional new road motorcycles.

There are a few things that are certain. A first announcement of the new Hornet, which will be powered by a rare two-cylinder in-line engine, emerged during the most recent EICMA. There has also been discussion about the coming of the new Transalp generation for some time.

Unfortunately, neither the Hornet nor the Transalp had four-cylinder in-line engines, but that is the way things are now. These two models are significant in Honda’s recent history.
Parallel two-cylinder engines are used by almost all manufacturers due to their compromise between costs, dimensions, and their ability to be used on many types. Yamaha, Kawasaki, KTM, BMW, and Aprilia all utilise them.
Suzuki, which continues to produce its spacious V2 650, Moto Guzzi, which has increased the displacement, and Triumph, with its inline three-cylinder 660, are the outliers.

The Hornet will therefore be powered by a new twin-cylinder engine that is more powerful than the 750 that currently powers the NC series. It should produce about 80 horsepower. The engine’s displacement is said to be 750 cc, and it most likely has a Unicam cylinder head similar to the 1,084 cc of the Africa Twin.

According to what we previously stated, the same engine should power the following Transalp while also serving as the foundation for more models as part of a growth, rejuvenation, and technological harmonisation strategy.

The Japanese colleagues of Young Machine , to whom we owe the image above, according to their information, argue that a hypothetical third model could be a naked with a more classic setting , in the style of the Hawk 11, and therefore hypothetically signed Hawk 75 , and to complete the range there would then be a sporty CBR750RR , along the lines of the current CBR500R, as an alternative to the four-cylinder CBR650R and ready to rival the Yamaha R7.

The new Hornet is expected as a 2023 model and the Transalp should also be on the home straight.

In short, we should know more about it.
